Student has successfully supported their answer with detailed facts. These facts may have been directly taken from a source. They are reliable and accurate.
Good
Student has included facts but they are vague or don't directly support their answer.
Poor
The facts are missing or are not accurate.
Reflection
Excellent
Student has thought about their answer and can reflect upon it by making a detailed connection. The student's connection is explained in detail and connects clearly to the answer.
Good
Student has made a connection but it isn't explained in detail. The connection may be unclear and leaves the reader with many questions.
Poor
The reflection portion has been left out or is not believable.
Conventions
Excellent
Student has included vivid andtransition words to help guide the reader through their answer.
Good
Student has included some vivid words but they may be used incorrectly and transition phrases have been used to connect one thought to the next.
Poor
Transition phrases are missing or not used correctly. Student has not made an attempt to use vivid words to help bring writing alive.
