In-Class Rehearsal Time
Got it!
You consistently and visibly demonstrated a strong sense of work ethic and collaboration with your group. Knapp clearly observed you contributing to the creation of your story and rehearsing during class time. You also actively involved all members of your group.
Getting there!
You were able to work within a group setting most, but not all of the time. Knapp observed you off task or goofing off during the rehearsal days. You were engaged with all your group members during the creation of your story as well as your rehearsals; however, there were times when Knapp saw you not working effectively on perfecting your miming performance.
Give it a little more time!
You have shown little to no evidence that you were working positively with your group. Knapp had to keep reminding you to stay on task and get back to work. In addition, Knapp was forced remind you to do simple tasks such as cooperating with others and contributing to the creation of your story and rehearsing your mimed story.
Miming
Got it!
You effectively created and mimed a character using facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, and effective movement/ body posture for your character and your story. You effectively used miming skills to enhance your group's story telling to the audience and remained in character throughout the entire performance. You were silent both vocally and physically during the performance.
Getting there!
You created and mimed a character using some facial expressions, some gesture, movement and body posture. You demonstrated some miming skills. At times you take away from the group's story telling to the audience because you did not remain in character through the entire performance. You attempted to remain silent either vocally and/or physically during the performance, but were not completely successful.
Give it a little more time!
There is some evidence that you attempted to mime a character by using facial expressions, gestures, movement, or body posture. However, you did not not use all of the techniques, or only used them sporadically. You demonstrated little to no miming skills. During your group's performance, you did not remain in character.
You were not silent either vocally and/or physically during the performance, nor did you make an effort to even do so.
Environment and Imaginary Objects
Got it!
You consistently used correct physical position based on your environment. You were always aware of your surroundings during the performance. You effectively used imaginary object(s), in addition to being aware of its placement, size, weight, shape, etc. You understood the structure of your mimed story and effectively used your environment. Your Environment and Imaginary Object matched the information you provided on your green Mime Plan sheet.
Getting there!
You used correct physical position based on your environment, but not throughout the entire scene. You were NOT always aware of your surroundings during the performance. You attempted to use imaginary object(s), but you were not effective with regards to the object's placement, size, weight, shape, etc. You mostly appeared to understand the structure of your mimed story. Your Environment and Imaginary Object somewhat matched the information you provided on your green Mime Plan sheet.
Give it a little more time!
You did not use correct physical position based on your environment during the scene. You were NOT aware of your surroundings during the performance. You did not attempt to use imaginary object(s). You did not appear to understand the structure of your mimed story, nor did you use your environment.
