Introductions Spanish 1 Students will communicate greetings and introduce themselves, and ask about others.
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Exceptional 4 pts
Greeting Students greet others properly	Poor No greeting, little-to-no effort.	Fair Improper greeting, poor pronunciation, or little effort.	Good Proper greeting, poor pronunciation, or Improper greeting, but good effort and pronunciation.	Exceptional Proper greeting with near-perfect pronunciation.
My name is... Students properly state "My name is..."	Poor Improper statement, or none at all.	Fair Abililty to use "soy" and name. Or other form with poor pronunciation.	Good Proper statement, poor pronunciation, or Improper statement, but good effort and pronunciation.	Exceptional Proper introduction with near-perfect pronunciation.
Description Students identify themselves with a characteristic/title	Poor Improper statement, or none at all.	Fair Ability to identify themself with only one characteristic, or poor pronunciation of more than one.	Good Proper description, poor pronunciation, or Improper description, but good effort and pronunciation.	Exceptional Proper self-description with near-perfect pronunciation. More than one accurate characteristic.
Inquiry Students inquire of the other person, How are you? Or What are you like?	Poor Improper statement, or none at all.	Fair Attempt to ask how are you, poor pronunciation or improper question.	Good Students inquire of the other person, How are you? Or What are you like? With acceptable-poor pronunciation.	Exceptional Students inquire of the other person, How are you? Or What are you like? With good pronunciation and genuine interest.
Goodbye Student properly says goodbye, good day, see you later, etc.	Poor Improper statement or none at all.	Fair Student says goodbye, with poor pronunciation.	Good Student has proper time and pronunciation to say goodbye. "Buenas Tardes, Adios, etc."	Exceptional Student says goodbye with near-perfect pronunciation and adds another proper "despedido." ex: Hasta Luego, Nos Vemos, etc.
