My Healthy Body Unit 
This Healthy Body is developed for kindergarten and 2nd grade students in a self-contained special needs classroom. This rubric has been developed to meet the needs of students with alternative modes of communications.

The Food Pyramid

Level 4

Student is able to correctly identify/categorize 5 or more foods under the correct food group on the Food Pyramid.
Level 3

Student is able to correctly identify/categorize at least 3 foods under the correct food group on the Food Pyramid.

Student is able to correctly identify/categorize at least 1 food under the correct food group on the Food Pyramid.

Germs / handwashing BASICS

Level 4

Student is able to discuss/answer/demonstrate correctly 6 out of 6 essential questions involving germs and proper handwashing (using their individual mode of communication).
Level 3

Student is able to discuss/answer/demonstrate correctly atleast 4 out of 6 essential questions involving germs and proper handwashing (using their individual mode of communication).
Level 2

Student is able to discuss/answer/demonstrate correctly atleast 2 out of 6 essential questions involving germs and proper handwashing (using their individual mode of communication).
Level 1

Student is unable to discuss/answer/demonstrate correctly any of the 6 essential questions involving germs and proper handwashing (using their individual mode of communication).
Teeth

Level 4

Student is able to discuss/answer correctly 6 out of 6 essential questions involving their teeth, good healthy foods for their teeth, and proper caring for their teeth (using their individual mode of communication).
Level 3

Student is able to discuss/answer correctly atleast 4 out of 6 essential questions involving their teeth, good healthy foods for their teeth, and proper caring for their teeth (using their individual mode of communication).
Level 2

Student is able to discuss/answer correctly atleast 2 out of 6 essential questions involving their teeth, good healthy foods for their teeth, and proper caring for their teeth (using their individual mode of communication).
Level 1
