Main Idea & Details 3 pts	Excellent Paragraph has clearly defined subject and details and remains on topic	Good Paragraph states subject but lacks details	Needs Improvement The paragraph do not contain a clear main idea or related details.
Description- 5 Senses 3 pts	Excellent The passage contains 4 or 5 descriptions using the five senses.	Good The passage contains 2 or 3 descriptions using the five senses.	Needs Improvement The passage contains 1 description using the five senses.
Mechanics and Spelling 2 pts	Excellent The passage is free of grammar and/or spelling errors.	Good The passage contains 1 or 2 grammar and/or spelling errors.	Needs Improvement The passage contains 3 or 4 grammar and/or spelling errors
