Key concepts include: a) types of simple machines (lever, screw, pulley, wheel and axle, inclined plane, and wedge); b) how simple machines function; and c) examples of simple machines found in the school, home, and work environment.

Student completed some parts of the task and was below expectation. Machine was half way built and student represented poor effot. Student's actual result are at a basic level.
Unsatisfactory

Student did not complete tasks or minimally and turned in late. Machine was not built at all. No effort was involved and student demonstrated understanding at a limited level.
Neatness and Organization

Outstanding

Student cleaned up after themselves and did not make a mess. Student kept their area outstandingly organized.
Good

Student cleaned up and occasionally lost some pieces. Student kept their area oragnized.
Fair

Student cleaned up sometimes and lost alot of pieces. Student did not keep their area organized all the time.
Unsatisfactory

Student did not clean up and lost alot of pieces. Student did not keep their orgranized at all.
Mannerism & Cooperation

Outstanding

Student was willing to help others and able to accept help from others. Student demonstrated excellent manners and cooperated well. Student was an outstanding leader.
Good

Student was willing to help others and sometimes accepted help from others. Student demonstrated satisfactory manners. Student was sometimes passive.
Fair

Student was somewhat of a loner and did not receive help from others. Student demonstrated mediocre manners. Student was extremely passive.
Unsatisfactory

Student was not willing to cooperate under any circumstance. Student did not possess any concept of manners. Student may need special attention and direction.
