Academic Academy Awards Acceptance Speech Lifetime Achievement Awards Students will research a person of significance to acting (playwright, actor, director, etc...) and write a speech that the person would give in acceptance of a lifetime achievement award. Students will be graded on both the written work, as well as the performance. Rubric Code: L52948 By redens Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Presentation Grade Levels: 9-12

Written Work
Content	Excellent All required information and some interesting supplemental information is presented.	Good All required information is presented.	Fair Most required information is presented.	Poor Very little required information is presented.
Length	Excellent Speech is at least 2 minutes long, to a maximum of 3 minutes.	Good Speech is slightly too long.	Fair Speech is slightly too short.	Poor Speech is extremely too long or short.
Memorization/Fluency	Excellent All of the speech is memorized and presented fluently.	Good All of the speech is memorized but there are a few hesitations in presenting the speech.	Fair Little of the speech is memorized, but what is memorized is presented with few hesitations.	Poor Very little of the speech is memorized, and there are many hesitations when presenting the speech.
Voice	Excellent Student varied the tone and volume of their voice often to match the mood/emotion of the character; they could always be heard.	Good Student varied the tone and volume of their voice to match the mood/emotion of the character; they could almost always be heard.	Fair Student attempted to change the tone/volume of the voice to add mood and emotion. Most of the time the voice matched the situation. Student's voice could be heard some of the time.	Poor Voice was monotone, and there were little to no emotions/moods portrayed. Student was hard to hear.
Facial Expressions	Excellent Different facial expressions were used, and they accurately portrayed the mood or emotion intended. Very expressive faces.	Good Student used facial expressions to match the mood or emotion. They were expressive most of the time. Mostly expressive faces.	Fair Student used facial expressions and attempted to match the mood or emotion. They were expressive some of the time. Somewhat expressive faces.	Poor There were few if any facial expressions. Facial expressions did not match with mood or emotion. Not very expressive faces.
