Lightning Thief Independent Study BASIC ASSIGNMENT RUBRIC (classwork, homework, labs) This rubric will be used to evaluate student independent completion of all assignments as they relate to the novel, "Lightning Thief" Rubric Code: L4A8AC By siege60 Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Assignment Grade Levels: 6-8

Rubric Criteria
	Exceeds Target 4 pts	Target 3 pts	Approaching Target 2 pts	Below Target 1 pts
Chapter Packets All pages of each chapter packet are to be completed	Exceeds Target All of the Chapter Packets were completed	Target At least 18 of the Chapter Packets were completed	Approaching Target Less than 15 of the Chapter Packets were completed	Below Target Almost none of the items were attempted.
Graphic Concepts Student will choose an appropriate object and discuss the symbolism of that object as it applies to the chapter. Student will support their claims with examples from the text, including page numbers.	Exceeds Target Student completed a graphic organizer for each of three different chapters	Target Student completed a graphic organizer for each of two different chapters	Approaching Target Student completed a graphic organizer for one chapter	Below Target Student did not complete any graphic organizer
Activities Student will complete a combination of activities ranging from brochures, essays, and collages for the assigned chapters.	Exceeds Target Student completed three activities for each of three different chapters	Target Student completed two activities for each of two different chapters	Approaching Target Student completed one activity for one chapter	Below Target Student completed no activities for any chapter
