3 Body Paragraphs
Great
Are easy to follow (ideas follow thesis); give topic sentences and strong supporting details; are at least 5 sentences long; have smooth transitions; use some higher level vocabulary
Fair
Are somewhat easy to follow (ideas may be mixed up); give topic sentences and general supporting details; are at least 3 sentences long; have somewhat smooth transitions; use some 'talking' English
Poor
Are not easy to follow (ideas are unorganized); do not give topic sentences and/or do not provide logical supporting details; are less than 3 sentences long; transitions are unclear; use a lot of 'talking' English or text messaging code

Great
Reviews the main idea and thesis statement; concludes paper clearly; is at least 5 sentences long; uses some higher level vocabulary

Mechanics/Usage/Grammar
Great
Has very few mechanical problems in paper, no spelling errors and little or no grammar problems; is neat or typed; is on time
Fair
Has some mistakes and spelling errors; is slightly messy; is not fully developed
Poor
Has many mistakes; needs to be edited and revised extensively; is messy paper; is late
