Creative Music Writing

Brainstorming	Good Spends the entire 5 minutes coming up with descriptive words to use in their poem. Has a list of 10 to 12 words.	Fair Spends most of the 5 minutes coming up with descriptive words to use in their poem. Has a list of 5 to 9 words.	Poor Spends very little of the five minutes comeing up with words to use in their poem. Has a list of 1 to5 words.
Lyrics/Poetry	Good Spends all 15 minutes working on the poem. The poem is made up of at least 5 lines, 8 words per line. Rhymeing words are used fluently and correctly.	Fair Spends most of the 15 minutes working on the poem. The poem has at least three lines, 6 to 8 words per line. Rhymeing is attempted. Fluency and placement need work.	Poor Spends very little of the 15 minutes on Poem work. Poem has 1 to 3 lines, 6 to 8 words per line. Rhymeing is not attempted. Fluency and placement are non exisistent.
Rhythmic notation	Good All four music symbols are used. Music notation is easy to read. Music notation matches syllable placement in words. Variation in rythmic notation is evident. Most syllalbes are left blank and very little notation is made. Rhythms are repeated and no variation is evident.
Melodic Notation	Good Song stays within the Pentatonic scale. The notation is clear and easy to read on the staff. Words are placed correctly beneath the corresponding notation.	Fair Song stays mostly in the Pentatonic scale. Notation is sloppy but understandable. Words are placed beneath notation with attempt to place under the corresponding note.	Poor Song does not stay in Pentatonic scale. Notation is illegible. Words are not placed under the corresponding notation. Very little attempt is made to place music in the staff.
