Ability to execute and describe the movements. Student can describe/execute correct placement of hands, feet, legs.

Ability to stay in time with the music

Attempts to keep a rhythm, but gets off beat and speeds up or falls behind often. Doesn't follow beat in music.
LEVEL 2-Benne So

Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat, but sometimes falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.
LEVEL 3- So Dayi

Accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences.
Shows Energy/Attitude

Involvement in the emotion or mood dance. (e.g. connecting with music instead of going through the motions. Students are prepared for class

Little effort made to contribute to success of group. Dancer was not prepared or well rehearsed. Dancer did not participate in the majority of the classes/rehearsals, or came late.
LEVEL 2-Benne So

Cooperative most of time. Dancer remembered some steps, but forgot others. Dancer participated in some of the classes/rehearsals, or came late.
LEVEL 3- So Dayi

Respect and consideration shown for other performers. Prepare and well- rehearsed. Dancer participated in all classes/rehearsals and arrived on time.
