Acting Class Participation and Attitude
This rubric will evaluate the participation of a student based on preparedness, behavior, attitude, accountability for actions and social interaction. Participation grades are taken at every class.

Active Involvement
Super Star
Student is constantly engaged in the class activity and has fantastic ideas to contribute. Student does not need reminders to stay on task and is helpful in reminding others to also participate.
Leading Role
Student is often engaged in the activities. Student could participate more in class activity, but is never causing a distraction.
Supporting Role
Student is often engaged in the activity but needs a reminder to get back on task at times. Student sometimes forgets to remind others to be involved.
Background Player
Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student often needs a reminder to get back on task, can be distracting to teacher/classmates and is in others physical space.
Extra
Student chooses actions that cause them to miss being involved in the class activity Student is distracting to the class as a whole and constantly in others physical space.
Accountability
Super Star
Student completed activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student is innovative and has made huge contributions to the overall activity.
Leading Role
Student usually completes activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student has done required classwork and has put forth an above average effort.
Supporting Role
Student sometimes completes activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student shows a 'middle of the line' or average effort.
Background Player
Student rarely completes activity or holds herself/himself accountable for missing work or not following directions.
Extra
Student did not complete required classwork. Student contributed little or nothing at all to the overall activity and takes no accountability for their actions.
Listening Skills
Super Star
Student is always carefully listening to others when they speak or perform. Student helps others when they need a friendly reminder to listen.
Leading Role
Student almost always listens to others when they are speaking or performing. Student is respectful when helping others to remember their listening skills.
Supporting Role
Student tries to listen to others when they are speaking or performing but needs to be reminded to do so at times. Student helps others to listen for most of the class time.
Background Player
Student has a hard time listening or watching other perform and therefore the student needs to constantly be reminded to listen or pay attention to others.
Extra
Student does not listen to others and consistently interrupts others when they are talking or performing.
Attitude
Super Star
Student is positive about the activities being learned in class and sets an excellent example for students around him/her.
Leading Role
Student is positive about the activities being done in class and has an above average attitude towards helping other classmates.
Supporting Role
Student is neutral about the activities. Student spreads mixed feelings around the class, both positive and negative.
Background Player
Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student can be fairly negative and needs a reminder to get back on task, can be distracting to teacher/classmates and is in others physical space.
Extra
Student has a negative attitude. Student makes the experience bad for others around him/her. Student may blame others rather than taking responsibility for his/her attitude.
Social Interaction
Super Star
Student respects and encourages the efforts of others. Student politely asks questions or clarification and raises their hand when appropriate. Student builds on others comments.
Leading Role
Body and/or verbal responses indicate active listening. Student asks questions and builds on others comments.
Supporting Role
Student sometimes pays attention to the group discussion. Student sometimes ask questions and build on others comments.
Background Player
Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student needs a reminder to get back on task, can be distracting to teacher/classmates and is in others physical space.
Extra
Student frequently interrupts and/or puts down the views of others. Student does not politely ask questions or for further clarification when they do not understand something.
Peer Feedback
Super Star
Student has insightful and useful feedback to their peers regarding their performances. They use their words to help the performer grow and be encouraged.
Leading Role
Student often has useful feedback to their peers regarding their performances. They use their words to help the performer grow.
Supporting Role
Student sometimes gives feedback to a performer. They often have to be prompted to do so. They occasionally give insight others have not already mentioned.
Background Player
Student rarely gives feedback even when asked to do so. They give little thought into the feedback given. They may offer criticism instead of useful ideas for improvement
Extra
Student has little to no feedback to a performer. They give critical indicators toward others.
