"Children of the Fire" story predictions Miss Glover's Guided Reading Rubric This rubric will allow me to gauge students ability to accurately predict the beginning and ending of the story based off what they have read. Rubric Code: L23B3X By nhorton Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Writing Grade Levels: 6-8

	Poor 0 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 4 pts	Excellent 5 pts
Prediction	Poor Student shows little to no ability to predict what story will be about.	Fair Student provides some ideas about what may occur in the story.	Good Student gives several ideas about what may occur in the story.	Excellent Student gives several ideas about what may occur in the story and gives rich detail, supported by information they have already gathered from the book (pictures, title, etc.).
Accuracy	Poor Student shows little to no understanding of what story was about after reading chapters eight and nine.	Fair Student shows some understanding of what story was about after reading chapters eight and nine.	Good Student is able to give details in their three paragraphs.	Excellent Student gives detailed paragraphs about story, supported by evidence in the story (pictures, title, etc.) from the chapters read.
Spelling/Grammar	Poor Student has many spelling and grammar errors.	Fair Student has several spelling and grammar errors.	Good Student has few spelling errors and very little grammar to correct.	Excellent Student has properly structured paragraphs along with proper spelling and punctual grammar.
