Persuasive Essay Persuasive Essay Student persuasive essay that uses facts to back up their argument. Arguments/ Reason	Need Improvement The student lists reasons but does not back up with facts or other support.	Good The student uses some facts to support the argument, but they are not used the entire time. The facts may not be accurate or not strongly stated/ expressed.	Excellent The student bases all their arguments on reliable facts that they have proved through their supporting examples.
Organization	Need Improvement The student does not have the 5 paragraphs that were part of the directions and in the outline.	Good The student has the 5 paragraphs, but the student did not follow the order from their thesis statement. Some supporting examples are there, but they need to be further supported with more detail/examples.	Excellent The student has at least 3 body paragraphs. Each paragraph has one reason stated clearly with facts/ examples that support their reason. Reasons are clearly stated and are convincing.
Thesis Statement	Need Improvement The student did not have reasons state or a audience grabbing introduction/thesis.	Good The student attempted a catchy introduction but had some errors. The student did not have their three reasons clearly stated in their introduction/thesis	Excellent The student a catchy and audience grabbing introduction.
