Student checks cutting equipment but misses more than one step or adjusts valves/gauges incorrectly. Student lights torch correctly but cannot adjust to a neutral flame.

Student checks cutting equipment but misses a step or adjusts valves/gauges incorrectly. Student lights torch correctly but cannot adjust to a neutral flame.
Advanced

Student correctly checks equipment and insures valves and gauges are adjusted properly. Student lights torch and adjusts for neutral flame properly.
Torch Shut-Down

Below Basic

Student incorrectly shuts down cutting equipment out of sequence or leaves a valve open.
Basic

Student shuts down equipment in correct sequence but fails to clear fuel/oxygen lines of all gas, does not clear regulators and back out regulator screws.
Proficient

Student shuts down equipment in correct sequence but fails to clear fuel/oxygen lines of all gas.
Advanced

Student correctly shuts down valves and clears all gauges and hoses of gas pressure. Equipment is then properly stored in shop.
