Cubist/Picasso Self Portrait Cubist/Picasso Self Portrait Examine Picasso's work and learn about cubism. Examine his self-portrait and how he used shapes and lines to define prominent features. Picasso Self-Portraits

Content Comprehension	Level 1 -Student demonstrates limited understanding of cubism through their Picasso inspired self-portrait. Little attempt at using geometric shapes, lines, or angles to create an abstract picture. Poor display of planes and perspectives.	Level 2 -Student demonstrates some understanding of cubism through their Picasso inspired self-portrait. Some use of abstract method to include geometric shapes, lines and angles, and an attempt at showing different planes and perspectives.	Level 3 -Student demonstrates good understanding of cubism through their Picasso inspired self-portrait. Good use of abstract method to include geometric shapes, lines and angles, showing some planes and a good attempt at showing many perspectives.	Level 4 -Student demonstrates excellent understanding of cubism through their Picasso inspired self-portrait. Excellent use of abstract method to include geometric shapes, lines and angles, showing many planes and perspectives.
Use of Line/Shape	Level 1 -Student used at least one shape and expertly used lines to define it.	Level 2 -Student used at least two shapes and expertly used lines to define them.	Level 3 -Student used at least three shapes and expertly used lines to define them.	Level 4 -Student used at least four shapes and expertly used lines to define them.
Color with oil pastels.	Level 1 Student did not color their project.	Level 2 Student colored their project however put forth little effort when choosing colors.	Level 3 Student colored artwork carefully.	Level 4 Student colored their project carefully. They outlined the appropriate shapes. They applied appropriate pressure to the oil pastel to make color spread smoothly.
Effort/Time	Level 1 -Student applied little effort regardless of his/her skill level and rarely used his/her time wisely.	Level 2 -Student applied minimum effort regardless of his/her skill level and occasionally used his/her time wisely.	Level 3 -Student showed a good effort regardless of his/her skill level and used his/her time wisely.	Level 4 -Student applied maximum effort regardless of his/her skill level and used his/her time wisely.
