Les images parlent 
Students will prepare a PowerPoint presentation of at least 15 school appropriate pictures of their choice: Pictures can be of themselves, of their families, of their interests, of their future professions, of famous persons or places in town etc... The main criteria is "school appropriate". All pictures will be checked by the instructor before the presentation.

Level 1

Each picture is followed by 1 complete sentence.
Level 2

Each picture is followed by phrases but no complete sentence.
Level 3

The PowerPoint contains some key words but no phrases per picture.
Level 4

The PowerPoint contains absolutely no sentences or words beside the title and the name of the student.
Speaking/Presentation

Level 1

The student is using a piece of paper containing everything he is saying.
Level 2

The student is using some key words on a piece of paper to help him present..
Level 3

The student is not using any notes, but is repeating some kinds of sentences.
Level 4

The student is making at least 2 sentences per picture without using any notes or other aid. The presentation is well done without any hesitation or useless repetition.
Past tense / Future tense

Level 1

The student does Not use the Passe compose or the future at all in his presentation / The student tries using the past tense and future tense but mixes everything.
Level 2

The student struggles with the passe compose and the future tense, puts the sentences in the wrong way. Less than 10 sentences are correct.
Level 3

The student makes more than 20 but less than 30 sentences in a combination of present tense, past tense and future tense / Or the student makes at least 30 sentences correctly but in only the present tense, past tense or the future tense.
Level 4

The student makes at least 25 sentences correctly in a combination of present tense, past tense and future tense.
Present tense

Students will show mastery of French present tense during their presentation

Level 1

The student struggles while using most types of verbs (regular & irregular) in their appropriate meaning and grammatical forms. The student clearly needs help with the present tense.
Level 2

The students uses all types of verbs (regular & irregular) in their appropriate meaning and grammatical forms half of the time.
Level 3

The students uses all types of verbs (regular & irregular) in their appropriate meaning and grammatical forms most of the times.
Level 4

The students uses all types of verbs (regular & irregular) in their appropriate meaning and grammatical forms all the time.
Questions / Comments

Does the student answer questions or repond to comments after the presentation?

Level 1

The student does Not answer any question or answers questions in English.
Level 2

The student tries to answer the questions in French but falls into English.
Level 3

The student answers less than 3 questions/comments correctly in French.
Level 4

The students answers at least 3 questions /comments correctly in French.
