Absolute Phrases	Good There are two absolute phrases containing a noun and an -ing word at the beginning or end of the sentence.	Fair There is one absolute phrase containing a noun and an -ing word at the beginning or end of the sentence.	Poor There are no absolute phrases in the sentence.
Appostive Phrases	Good The appositive phrase appears after the noun it is describing, and is another noun itself.	Fair The appositive is incorrectly placed, or is not another noun.	Poor There is no appositive phrase in the sentence.
Grammar and Mechanics	Good Sentences are flawless in respect to grammar, punctuation and capitalization.	Fair One error in grammar, punctuation or capitalization.	Poor More than one error in grammar punctuation or capitalization.
