Interactive Communication Cultivate "warmth, humanity, engagement" in your communications--even brief ones--with your parents and others. Exhibit a pleasant, cooperative attitude.
	Unacceptable 0 pts	Fair 1 pts	Good 2 pts
Initial Response Time	Unacceptable Responds late and requires several prompts to get oneself under control before interaction can begin.	Fair One or the other, but not both: Responds late -or- requires one or more prompts to get oneself under control before interaction can begin.	Good Responds promptly and requires no prompts to get oneself under control, so that interaction can begin in a timely manner.
Attentiveness	Unacceptable Is typically inattentive during interaction, displaying isolationist posture and/or limited eye contact. Numerous prompts are required.	Fair Listens during most of an interaction, but requires periodic prompts to improve posture, maintian eye contact, or remain focused.	Good Listens attentively with acceptable posture and eye contact; remains focused on topic discussed or problem to be solved.
Respect	Unacceptable Typically displays lack of respect for others during interaction through voice tone, body language, facial expressions, or retorts, requiring numerous prompts.	Fair Displays lack of respect for others through voice tone, body language, facial expressions, or retorts; but responds positively to one or two prompts and remains respectful through balance of interaction.	Good Consistently demonstrates respect for others--through voice tone, body language, facial expressions--during interaction.
Participation	Unacceptable Demonstrates little or no inclination to engage in interaction; verbalizes at a bare minimum or simply remains passive--the only notable exception being to argue.	Fair Offers minor input and/or responses during interaction. Occasionally strays off-topic, but generally remains on topic or problem to be solved.	Good Participates actively, thoughtfully, and positively throughout interaction, remaining on topic or attempting to help problem-solve when appropriate.
