Research and Story
F (0%–40%)
There is no story, there is no history and it's like looking at a rough child's drawing.
D (40%–49%)
There is a very basic story, very short. It takes you about ten minutes to go through and it was like reading a short children's book.
C (50%–64%)
The campaign is like a deep short story, or a long boring book. It is ether too short, where it leaves the player having to play it again to catch everything. Example: the kind of stories you read in English class. Or it is too long but has nothing to it. Example: a game where you are going in cave after cave killing goblins and orcs, and you do this twenty times.
B (65%–79%)
The story is quite enjoyable, and playing it keeps you interested and happy. Yet somehow reaching the end you felt as if there should have been more, or that it ended too soon.
A (80%+)
The student's campaign is a rich story that makes sense and is enjoyable, like an excellent book. It is original and pulls the player in and plays for at least an hour or more.
Details and Extras
F (0%–40%)
There are no details and extras, it looks like the white space on a failed to load website.
D (40%–49%)
The game looks like someone started building something and might even have had some good ideas, but after building it about knee high got distracted and ran off, leaving a lot of unfinished things laying around. Example: you find a really neat looking ball that glows. It looks like it should do something, but for the rest of the game you are holding on to this glowing ball that does not do anything.
C (50%–64%)
There are a couple of Non Player Characters that have a few personalities, but they are stereo typical and sketchy. There might be a side quest, maybe two but not much else but the main objective.
B (65%–79%)
There are a number of fun details and quirks you can find through out the game and fun side quests, and even some good Non Player Characters that develop as you go along. More could have been done though; the player is not blown away by it.
A (80%+)
The student's campaign has many enjoyable side quests, well developed Non Player Character's, and many connections throughout the story. It is well thought out and extensive.
Does it work?
F (0%–40%)
The game does not work.
D (40%–49%)
The game might get to the first screen, but the player can not get out the door.
C (50%–64%)
There is a bit of playability, but a lot of bugs along the way, where the player has to go back in a saved game more then once.
B (65%–79%)
The game runs fairly smoothly, with the odd bugs but there is a decent effort.
A (80%+)
The student's campaign will play without hitch, with no bugs and loose ends. The code is complete, neat and efficient.
Communication
F (0%–40%)
There are no logs.
D (40%–49%)
There are a few erratic ones, but nothing to be proud of.
C (50%–64%)
There are logs, but there are details. Or there are only a about half really well detailed logs.
B (65%–79%)
There are a decent amount of logs and details but there are a few notable oversights.
A (80%+)
The student has sustained a complete and thorough log of their activities throughout the extent of the project.
