Collective Bargaining Introductory Essay
Students are to view the IAM/Spirit Aerospace Negotiations 2008 You Tube link under Important Documents in the introduction section. Then visit the IAM website http://www.iam751.org/ and read/listen to District President Wrobleski’s current report of the strike and the strike update. What helpful suggestions does the union provide? What other unions are supporting the strikers? Who else is walking the picket line? Write your analysis of the 2004 contract negotiations from the union perspective, as understood from the You Tube link. What do you think they did right and/or wrong in accepting that contract? What is your opinion of the current strike and mediation?
