Big 6 Process	In Progress Most elements of the Big Six process are incomplete. You have less than one page of notes.	Basic Most of the Big Six stages have been completed on time. You have at least one full page of notes.	Proficient Each step of the Big Six process has been completed on time. You have 1-2 pages of notes, and notes adequately cover the topic assigned.	Advanced All deadlines have been met. You have several pages of notes that thoroughly address the topic. It is evident that you went "above and beyond".
Locating Information	In Progress You need a lot of help from the teacher or librarian to find information	Basic You have difficulty finding information, and spend way too much time with one source. You only use one source or encyclopedia.	Proficient You have found information from at least three appropriate sources, and needed minimal help from the teacher or librarian.	Advanced You have used more than three sources to find information and are able to independently search and select the best sources.
Using Information Taking Notes	In Progress Your notes have completely been copied from the book. You have not recorded bibliographic information for your sources.	Basic Your notes have mostly been copied from the book, but some of your own words are used. Your bibliographic information is incomplete.	Proficient Your notes are organized and in your own words. Your paper shows that you have organized and synthesized your notes. Your bibliographic information is complete.	Advanced Your notes are thorough, in your own words, and organized. Your writing shows your clear understanding of the notes taken. Bibliographic information is complete.
Grammar and Sentence Structure	In Progress You have way too many errors! The page is basically unreadable.	Basic You are familiar with the rules of formal grammar, but still make quite a few mistakes.	Proficient You use grammar correctly and appropriately with only a few errors.	Advanced You have a clear understanding of correct grammar, rarely make an error, and use variety and creativity in your sentence structure.
Final Project	In Progress Many parts of the project are incomplete or missing.	Basic Most parts of the project are completed satisfactorily.	Proficient You have all required parts of the project and everything was submitted on time, neatly, and organized as instructed.	Advanced Your project is complete AND you have clearly gone "above and beyond" the assignment requirements in length or coverage of topic.
