Opening Scene: The Letter Enter criteria description	Poor Movie begins with a letter that either asks a question not relevant to the topic or is missing a question altogether.	Fair Movie begins with a letter that asks a question, but it is only loosely relevant to the topic.	Good Movie begins with a letter that asks a relevant question about the topic. The questions require no more than one or two screens to answer.	Excellent Movie begins with a letter that asks a relevant question about the topic. The question requires more than three or four scenes to answer. -
Knowledge/Content Enter criteria description	Poor -The message does not reflect well on the topic. -Vocabulary words are either missing or are not used correctly in context.	Fair -The dialogue is limited or irrelevant to the topic. -The required vocabulary are used, but show a limited understanding of the concepts.	Good -The student has told a creative story. -All of the required vocabulary are present. -Most vocabulary words are used in context and show understanding of some, but not all of the concepts.	Excellent -The student exceeded the expectations. -The student was creative, tells a story about the science topic. -All required vocabulary are used correctly in context, and demonstrate a deep understanding of the topic. -The cartoon educates readers about the science topic.
Organization	Poor Movie does not follow a logical sequence. Little to no planning involved. Scenes include no information about the topic.	Fair Movies shows evidence of moderate to little planning and storyboarding. Some scenes include information not related to question or topic.	Good Movie shows some evidence of planning and storyboarding. Sequence somewhat logical. Some scenes relate to the question, but others include irrelevant information	Excellent Movie shows evidence of planning and storyboarding through its logical sequence. All scenes relate to the question in the letter (the topic).
