Art Show Participation

Requirements: 2 works
Help hanging and setting up/ tear down of show.

Poor

The student did not have two works of art in the art show. The student made little effort to assist in the mounting, setting up, or tearing down of the art show.
Good

The student had two items of work in the show, they also assisted the teacher in hanging their work.
Excellent

The student had two or more works in the show. They took initiative in the mounting, labeling and hanging of the show. They assisted the teacher with other aspects of the show and were eager to help.
Historical Artist Presentation

IMAGES: There were 10 -15 images of the artists most famous works.

Poor

There were only 3-5 images of the artist work. The student did not know the names of the work or why these works were significant to the development of this artist. Little research was done in preparing the images and they were small, and crowded on the PPT.
Good

The student had 10+ images of the artist work. They were able to inform the audience of the significance of each painting and add to it's viewing by either knowing the title of the work or when it was painted in the artist carrier.
Excellent

The student had a thorough and interesting display of the artists work as it developed. They were knowledgeable of the history of each work and were able to add interesting details to the images shown which engaged the audience.
Historical Artist Personal History

There were slides pertaining to the location, birth, family, and other listed facts of the artists life history.

Poor

The student did not include the required information on the birth, location, education, and family of the artist. They had no knowledge of their personal history.
Good

The student was able to identify where the artist lived and worked by providing an image of the location or school they attended (either a past photo or recent image of the city etc. ) There was also information and images about their personal upbringing.
Excellent

The student made the artist come alive through interesting facts about their lives. There were stories and details that helped the audience identify what life and background let to this type of art. All facts were connected to images they connected in order to create a dynamic presentation.
Influential Artist

Who influenced your artist and what did their work look like?

Poor

The student provided little on no information on any artist that influenced their work.
Good

The student provided the names and work of three artist that influenced their artists development. These artist may have been peers of the artist themselves.
Excellent

The student connected the work of their artist to the work of other artist in their circle of influence by providing imagery and thorough descriptions of how their works were similar. The student added their own understanding of artistic vocabulary to describe the works in detail.

The student read from articles that were not their own work. They did not have mastery of the subject matter on a personal level.
Good

The student was well read, and knowledgeable concerning the research they performed on the artist. They were able to speak without the aid of each slide and could answer questions about the research.

The student had opinions and developed critiques about the artist they studied and were able to speak confidently about what they knew. Their presentation was interesting and clearly well organized.
