Beginning

Student uses the toe of their shoe to dribble.
Developing

Student usually favors one foot while dribbling but uses the inside and outside of their foot.
Right on Track

Student uses both feet and both sides of the foot while dribbling.
Advanced

Student uses both feet while dribbling and sometimes even uses his or her laces and bottom of feet to move the ball.
Control

Beginning

Student shows no control and is constantly chasing after the ball.
Developing

Student shows some control of the soccer ball while dribbling.
Right on Track

Student easily maintains control of the ball, but rarely passes when opportunity arises.
Advanced

Student keeps the ball close to their body while dribbling, and able to make connecting passes when appropriate. Can turn the ball easily to avoid defensive tackle.
Eye Position

Beginning

Student eyes are fixed on the ball and NOT the field and positions of the players.
Developing

Student occasionally can dribble with their eyes up, but must stop dribbling in order to evaluate his/her teammates field positions.
Right on Track

Student often looks up to evaluate teammate's field positions without having to stop dribbling, but rarely passes the ball.
Advanced

Student always has their eyes up while dribbling, searching for open space and possible passing opportunities. Student passes frequently to his/her teammates.
