Students will create as mask that reflects a Greek mytholgical being.

Excellent

Completed Think/Process Sheet on time and generated orignal ideas that used a understanding of the use of balance, color, texture, form, movement, variety, and expresion. These understandings were used in the apllication of materials and media to their final mask.
Good

Completed Think/Process sheet on time but had not completed some of the sketches or color comps. Demostrated some understanding of how the elements and principles would be used in the design of their mask and applied those ideas in their final mask.
Fair

Did not complete Think/Process sheet.
Used one sketch and did not try any other possible solutions or put little effort in thier sketches. Used some of the elements and priciples, but has no evidence to show their intented idea.
Poor

Did not complete or hand in a Think/ Process sheet. Had no sketches and did not demostrate a understanding of the use of elements or principles in their final mask.
Representation

Excellent

Student shows advanced thought and research into their mythological being. Used intentional materials and media in a manner that deplict their "being" in an acurate manner.
Good

Student shows some intentional thought and research of their mytholgical being. Could have show more intent in the materials and media they selected when designing the final product.
Fair

Student shows little thought or research was used when designing and creating mask. Used spontanious materials and media that showed little planning.
Poor

Student shows no intentional thought or reasearch into the construction of mask. All materials and media were spontaniuos and has no connection to the mythological being.
Mask Quality

Excellent

Student used all thier effort in creating the mask. Used materials to the fullest and used multiple layers to enhance the durabillity and longevity of the mask. Smoothed out all of the plaster and had no imperfections.
Good

Student made best effort in constructing mask. Used some extra layers for duribility and smoothed out most of the plaster, with some imperfections.
Fair

Student put some effort into the structure of the mask, but it was flimsy, had thin/weak spot, and plaster was not smoothed out with no intentionally use.
Poor

Student showed miniumal work or progress, did not complete mask or only made the mask structure.
Creativity

Excellent

Student showed personal investment and reflected thoughtout the process to insured that their final product was meeting their own expectations. Was excited by new thoughts and ideas and had positive outlook trail and error throught out the creative process.
Good

Students showed some personal investment into the project by carefully considering their intentions before apllying media. Had some of their own motives in the creation and showed little discouragement.
Fair

Student showed little interest in the process and relied on serendipity moments with their creativity. Became very discourage when things did not work and did not see reflective asspects of trail and error.
Poor

Student show no creative interest or investment in the project. All creativity was unplanned and had a negitive attitude thoughtout the process.
Effort and Resposibility

Excellent

Student show excellent effort by having the mask completed on time and using class time to it's fullist potenial. Even made efforts outside of class to complete final project. Used all materials in a reponsible manner and made sure to take care and clean up after themselves and showed initative to clean up messes that were not their responsibility as an act of respect to the artroom and it's materials.
Good

Student showed effort by having the mask completed on time and had to be reminded only a few times to use class time appropriatly. Took care of all of the materials they used and showed respect for the artroom and it's materials.
Fair

Student showed little effort to complete their mask on time by not using all class time effectivatly. Took little responsibility to clean and put away materials and needed to be reminded serveral times to clean up.
Poor

Student showed no effort by not completing their mask on time or not completing their mask at all. Used classtime ineffectivatly by being disruptive to others and made no progress. When class materials where used student was irresponsible and left a mess and materials out.
