Communication	Poor The writer uses little organization. Ideas do not reflect value of the monument, memorial or building.	Fair The writer uses some organization. Ideas convey some aspects of value but miss main points.	Good The writer organizes the paragraph well. The reader understands the value and important features of the topic.
Structural Quality	Poor The writer makes numerous errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling , and/or capitalization.	Fair The writer makes some grammar, punctuation, spelling, and/or capitalization errors.	Good The writer makes no grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and/or capitalization errors.
Picture	Poor Writer includes no image.	Fair Writer includes an image that does not help show the reader more about the topic.	Good Writer has chosen an image that clearly shows the importance of the topic and it adds value to the essay.
