Effort	Poor I don't think I tried hard enough in this course.	Fair Although I did my homework, I think I could have tried harder.	Good I thought deeply outside of class about the topics that were discussed in class. I did my best for all of the homework assignments. I read more than what was required of me.
Participation	Poor I could have participated more.	Fair Sometimes I held back when I had a question or wanted to speak.	Good I tried my best to participate in class discussions. I asked questions when I had them. I listened to my peers and instructor.
Speaking Skills	Poor I'm still stuck in the same speaking routine. I didn't challenge myself to improve my skills.	Fair Although I participated a lot, I wasn't always thinking about improving my speaking skills.	Good I challenged myself to use new vocabulary and complex sentences. I made an effort to improve my pronunciation.
