Procedure Writing on Matter Experiments 
Creating a Means of Flight
Students will write a procedure on an experiment that was done in class. They will follow include all aspects of the procedure writing strategy. Students will include a summary to explain the properties of matter and include appropriate vocabulary.

Student produces step-by-step instructions to describe an experiment on matter. A diagram may be included if needed. Vocabulary is used and explained throughout work.

A written summary explains the properties of matter as it relates to their experiment.

The summary is well written. Properties of matter are clearly explained and relates to the student's experiment.

Thought and effort is evident in the written summary, however some aspects of the properties of matter are not covered. Some attempt to relate information to the student's experiment is noted.
Good

Strong attempt at writing the summary is evident. Many details related to the properties of matter are not included and do not relate to the experiment.
Developing

Summary is weak and does not effectively explain the properties of matter. Summary does not relate to the student's experiment.
