The dancer/actor creates a believable character on stage and is able to engage the audience completely through their performance.

The dancer/actor communicates with other dancers/actors and audience through eye contact and facial and body expression. Is able to engage the audience.

The dancer/actor communicates with other dancers/actors and audience through eye contact and facial and body expression.
Basic
The dancer/actor is generally focused, but only some attempt made to communicate with others on stage or audience.
Elementary
The dancer/actor is not very focused, concentrated or committed to performance.
Rhythm/Tempo
Excellent
Shows a complete understanding of tempo and beat and stays on rhythm throughout the dance.
High
Accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences throughout the dance.
Sound
Generally accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms of dance sequences most of the time.
Basic
Shows a basic understanding of tempo and beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.
Elementary
Attempts to keep a rhythm, but gets off beat and speeds up or falls behind often. Doesn't follow beat in music.
