Environmental Relevance

Poor

No relevance to an environmental issue/topic
Fair

Some relevance/correlation to environmental issue, but far fetched or too general.
Good

Good Relevance to an environmental issue. Models environmental problem.
Lab set-up

Poor

Makesno sense, random, no thought behind the set-up.
Fair

Apparent why you chose to do this lab, exemplifies curiosity, set-up o.k. but too broad/general with minimal relevance to a class topic.
Good

Good thought behind the set-up, shows detail and good relation to class topic.
Materials

Poor

Not complete or have no correlation, random choices.
Fair

Show correlation, choices thought out, complete for the most part.
Good

Complete, relevant to each other, shows good thought behind your choices.
Procedure

Poor

Incomplete, too many assumptions, not listed and numbered.
Fair

Listed and numbered, but incomplete. I would have too many questions in order to collect the same results.
Good

Listed, numbered, detailed, leaves no room for interpretation. Concise!
Data Collection/Display

Poor

Graph(s)/table(s) inconclusive, units incorrect or bad; data incomplete, too many errors, recorded in pencil
Fair

Graph(s)/table(s) conclusive-lead reader to an understanding of the observations, units conclusive/applied correctly; some error; recorded in pencil.
Good

Conclusive data, well organized, easy to follow collection of observations, units chosen wisely (give precise clue about overall outcome), recorded in pen, no errors. Table(s)/graph(s) beautifully laid out.
Conclusion

Poor

No critical thinking, shows no understanding of the purpose of the lab, I can ask "why?" and my question is not answered. Shallow.
Fair

Shows some critical thinking/understanding of purpose, not super deep, but I can see the brain started to go, but didn't get that far. Didn't copy/answer questions that came with the lab (before the conclusion paragraph)
Good

Well thought out. Every time I ask "why?" there was a sentence to answer the question. Made connection to topics learned/covered in the Unit. If questions went along with the lab, they were answered fully and correctly.
Lab write-up

Poor

Did not follow guidelines.
Fair

Followed guidelines to an extend.
Good

Followed guidelines to the T.
Neatness

Poor

Sloppy, not organized.
Fair

O.k. - but not WOW.
Good

Very well done, left space between sections, underlined headlines, numbered everything but main headline and date; no bleeding through pages, pages numbered
Teacher Points

Fair
