Introduction	Very Good The introduction is inviting and states the main idea and previews the structure of the paper.	Good The introduction clearly states the main idea and previews the structure of the paper, but is not inviting to the reader.	Fair The introduction states the main idea but does not preview the structure of the paper and is not inviting to the reader.	Poor There is no clear introduction of the main idea or the structure of the paper.
Sentences	Very Good The student wrote 6 sentences about an inventor who invented an educational invention.	Good The student wrote 4-6 sentences about an inventor who invented an educational invention.	Fair The student wrote 3-5 sentences about an inventor who invented an educational invention.	Poor The student wrote 1-2 sentences about an inventor who invented an educational invention.
