Instructor assess group efforts in producing group choreography as an assignment in which all members contributed to producing choreography for the task at hand. Assignment was to have at least 6 counts of 8, 4 of the required jazz techniques included: 1. Kick 2. Turn 3. Jump 4. Leap. Also include a clear beginning and ending. Dance must be costumed. Performance qualities is a must!

Choreography

Movement must relate to the song. Must have at least 8 counts of 8 with a beginning and ending.

Group accomplished the task extremely well by relating the dance movements to the song. Very clear beginning and ending. Accomplished required length of choreography.

Group accomplished task well by relating the dance movements to the song. Clear beginning and ending. Accomplished required length of choreography.
Fair

Group somewhat accomplished task and movements are unclear to the theme of the song. Beginning and ending is somewhat unclear. Missing 1-2 counts of 8 of choreography.
Needs Improvement

Group is confused about assignment and was missing 3-4 counts of 8 of choreography. The beginning and ending was very unclear.
Poor

Group did not finish assignment and movements have no relation to song. There is no beginning or ending to the choreography.
Knowledge/Timing

Dancer must have correct timing with the music and knowledgeable of the choreography.

Dancer know the movement extremely well. Confident and don't need to follow anyone else. Dancers have a great sense of timing & direction.
Good

Dancer know the movement well. They stay together, and have a good sense of timing & direction. 2-3 mistakes made.

Dancer somewhat knew movement. Have an ok sense of timing & direction. Made 4-5 mistakes.
Needs Improvement

Dancer are somewhat unprepared and unsure of the choreography. Timing or direction is unclear. Made 5-6 mistakes.
Poor

Dancer is unprepared and unsure of the choreography. There is no sense of timing or direction. Made lots of mistakes.
Jazz Technique

Include 4 of the jazz movement with PROPER technique. Feet pointed, legs straight, spotting turns,use of arms, opposition etc.

Excellent

Strong and consistent evidence that the dancer understands the fundamentals and proper technique to execute all 4 of the movements. Included all 4 jazz techniques.
Good

Good evidence that the dancer understands the fundamentals and proper technique to execute all 4 of the movements. Included 3 jazz techniques.
