Topic/Research	Poor The student did not choose a relevant current issues topic. The student did not have any research to show for their effort.	Fair The student chose a relevant topic on a current issue. The student only used two sources for their information and/or their resources were not properly cited.	Good The student chose a relevant topic on a current issue. The student used at least three outside sources for research. There may have been an issue with proper citation.	Excellent The student chose a relevant topic on a current issue. The student used at least four outside sources and the research was properly cited according to MLA format.
Persuasiveness	Poor Brochure was off topic completely.	Fair The brochure was off topic at times and did not do a good job of convincing the reader. Some of the information was irrelevant.	Good The brochure had persuasive elements to it but may have contained one or two miscellaneous or erroneous bits of information.	Excellent The argument in the brochure was well thought out and well researched. The brochure was able to persuade the reader that their cause was worth looking into.

Attractiveness.	Poor The brochure looks rushed. There is very little in the way of pictures and the project is incomplete. The brochure may contain unprofessional humor.	Fair The work looked rushed and was incomplete. Two or more of the sides of the brochure may have been incomplete. There are bits of erroneous information. The layout does little to support the argument being made.	Good The brochure was attractive and well laid out. However, there may have been unrelated pictures or erroneous headlines. A portion of the brochure may not have been fully completed.	Excellent The brochure was bright, colorfull and laid out in a way that enhanced the overall effectiveness of the argument being presented. All portions of the brochure are complete.
