Guided Reading Rubric
	Poor 0 pts	Fair 1 pts	Good 2 pts	Excellent 3 pts
Prediction	Poor Student shows little to no ability to predict what story will be about.	Fair Student provides some ideas about what may occur in the story.	Good Student gives several ideas about what may occur in the story.	Excellent Student gives several ideas about what may occur in the story and gives rich detail, supported by information they have already gathered from the book (pictures, title, etc.).
Comprehension	Poor Student shows little to no understanding of what story was about when questioned.	Fair Student shows some understanding of what story was about when questioned.	Good Student is able to answer questions about book sufficiently.	Excellent Student gives detailed answers to questions about story, supported by evidence in the story (pictures, title, etc.).
Retell	Poor Student can retell little to no parts of the story.	Fair Student can retell a basic outline of the story.	Good Student can retell story with sufficient detail.	Excellent Student can retell story with rich detail, supported by evidence in the story (pictures, title, etc.).
Writting	Poor Students show little to no understanding of the instructions. (write how you would spend $4.00)	Fair Students show some ideas but have lacked in generating specific details.	Good Students have completed the assignment with sufficient detail and demonstrate effort.	Excellent Students have completed the assignment with many details, show understanding of the theme of the story, and completed the worksheet neatly.
