Text support 3 pts Uses text support of comparison statements.	Advanced All statements are supported by details.	Proficient Most statements are supported by details.	Beginning Few or none of the statements are supported by details.
Statement Placements 3 pts	Advanced All statements noting similarities are placed in the center circle and all statements that note differences are placed in the correct outer circle.	Proficient Most statements are placed in the correct circle, but student mixed up a few statements.	Beginning Few statements are placed in the correct circle.
Number of quality statements 2 pts	Advanced Student is able to make 3 or more comparisons statements in each circle.	Proficient Student is able to make at least 2 comparison statements in each circle.	Beginning Student makes less than 2 comparison statements in each circle.
