Ideas	Exceeds I have written and clearly explain who I am, 3 major events in my life and what I hope to accomplish. I have added details and make the reader feel like part of my story.	Grade Level I have written explaining who I am, 3 major events in my life and what I hope to accomplish.	Basic I have written explaining at least 2 of the 3 things: who I am, 3 major events in my life and what I hope to accomplish.	Below Basic I have not included much about who I am, events from my life and what I want to accomplish.
Paragraph Structure	Exceeds I have 3 or more paragraphs with creative topic sentences, 3 details and and summarizing sentence	Grade Level I have 3 paragraphs. Each paragraph has a beginning, a middle with details and ends with a closing sentence.	Basic my 3 paragraphs have a topic and some details.	Below Basic my 3 paragraphs do not have a topic. they are unorganized.
Writing Process- drafting	Exceeds I have created a graphic organizer and multiple drafts that have all changed before my final copy.	Grade Level I have created a graphic organizer, a rough draft and a final copy. They are each a little different.	Basic I have created a graphic organizer, rough draft and final copy, but not much has changed.	Below Basic I am missing part or all of my drafts.
Writing Process- Editing	Exceeds I have mo mistakes. My spelling, caitalization and punctuation is perfect.	Grade Level My final copy has a few mistakes, but it is clear that I have edited and corrected most of them before I published.	Basic My final copy has some mistakes. I have edited, but I should have checked one last time.	Below Basic I have many mistakes. Next time, I need to spend more time editing.
