Student Response to Situations

"Inappropriate"

Crying, yelling, physical withdrawl, facial grimacing, angry self-talk, pacing, resistance to adult redirection
"Unexpected"

Less number and severity of #1 behaviors, rigid body posture, low volume self-talk, anger or frustration not always directed at correct person or situation, will go to contact person when told or given pass.
"Improving"

Exaggerated angry facial expression, some inappropriate comments, recognizes internal state and requests to use pass to contact person
"Expected"

Typical response to situation, comments similar to that of peers,uses "scripted" comments that are within acceptable range, corrects minor unacceptable behaviors with prompt from teacher
Teacher Response to Student

"Inappropriate"

Teacher will give a "PASS" to leave room and go to the contact person. Crisis Plan: If all of the above indicators are present and student will not use "PASS" when offered then contact person will be called to location to intervene with student.
"Unexpected"

Teacher will give a prompt to change inappropriate behavior. If not successful then teacher will give "PASS" to student and student will go to contact person.
"Improving"

Teacher may prompt to help student recognize inappropriate behavior and student will respond, or student will recognize early triggers and request to use "PASS" to contact person.
"Expected"

Teacher gives prompt and student will immediatley correct, or student will recognize triggers and use appropriate replacement behaviors independently.
