Unable to show basic knowledge of scales and arpeggios, including knowledge of key signatures.
Wait List

Able to show basic knowledge of scales, arpeggios and key signatures. Performance is still poor with many basic skills still at beginning level.
Acceptable

Able to show adequate knowledge of scales, arpeggios and key signatures and perform scales with good accuracy. All basic skills including intonation, rhythm, Left and Right hand technique and tone are all at grade level.
Priority

Able to perform all scales and arpeggios requested with minor errors. All basic skills are excellent.
Solo Piece #1

Must be a solo selection from the repetoire for the particular instrument
Decline

Unable to play a solo. Does not have a suffiecient repetoire or has never learned or performed a solo work.
Wait List

Able to show basic knowledge of the piece. Performance is still poor with many basic skills still at beginning level.
Acceptable

Able to show adequate knowledge of piece and perform with good accuracy. All basic skills including intonation, rhythm, Left and Right hand technique and tone are present.
Priority

Able to perform piece with minor errors. All basic skills are excellent and performance is artistic and musical.
Solo piece #2 or Orchestral excerpt

If the orchestra excerpt option is chosen, an expert from 2 different pieces is required
Decline

Unable to play a solo or orchestral excerpt. Does not have a suffiecient repetoire or has never performed in an ensemble.
Wait List

Able to show basic knowledge of the piece. Performance is still poor with many basic skills still at beginning level.
Acceptable

Able to show adequate knowledge of piece and perform with good accuracy. All basic skills including intonation, rhythm, Left and Right hand technique and tone are present.
Priority

Able to perform piece minor errors. All basic skills are excellent and performance is artistic and musical.
Interview

Decline

Does not display basic knowledge of music and/or string playing.
Wait List

Able to show basic knowledge of Music and/or string playing.
Acceptable

Able to show basic knowledge of Music and/or string playing. Answers show Enthusiasm for strings playing.
Priority

Able to show mature knowledge of music and/or string playing. Answers show entusiasm and priority for string playing and performance.
