Research
Poor
I did not hand in research. I did some but I'm not sure where it is.
OR
I did some research. It is pretty messy. I'm not sure if I used a variety of sources or not. My research is incomplete.
Limited
I took a few notes and looked at several web sites. I already feel I knew most of what I needed. I have research notes but they aren't organized very clearly.
Satisfactory
I took notes and looked at web sites from several sources. My research notes are all present with information on where the sites can be found. You will find my notes in order and easy to follow.
Proficient
I took clear, detailed notes that were central to my essay. My research clearly shows sites from a variety of sources and styles. I have clearly shown citation for all of my sources.
LAT (Learning, Attitude, Time)
Poor
I did not use my class time well and/or I did not work on this as homework. I may have learned something but I have not shown you or it would be hard to notice based on what I handed in. I was easily distracted.
*If you handed in any aspect late, you must choose this option.*
Limited
I learned very little that I didn't know before. I am not very interested in research projects. I only do them because I have to. I may not have used class time well. I only worked on this in class and maybe an hour or two at home.
Satisfactory
I have learned something from this project or about researching. I approached this with an open mind and did my best to fulfill the assignment. I used class time well. I may have done some homework, especially on the visual.
Proficient
I learned something from this project or about researching and I could clearly explain it. I enjoyed this new challenge, even if some things did not go as I expected. I worked well in class and worked on it at home.
Visual
Poor
I did not hand in a visual OR I started one, but it is incomplete. I may try to hand it in later.
Limited
My visual is done; it's ok. I had to rush, but I'm just happy it's handed in. My visual is literal. I'm not very artsy or didn't feel like putting a lot of time into this.
Satisfactory
My visual is pretty good. I have completed the assignment. My visual represents less time/effort than an essay. My visual may be more literal than symbolic. I didn't rush, but I didn't spend a lot of time on it either.
Proficient
I am proud of my visual and feel it fully represents me as a student and my hero. Literal and symbolic elements can be found. My visual represents as much effort as my essay. It shows care and concern for the subject given.
