Parts of the brace map: Follows the brace map diagram given to the students at the beginning of the school year.	Poor Group includes some or no parts of the brace map.	Fair Group includes most parts of the brace map.	Good Group includes all parts of the brace map.
3 properties, 4 types of change: The students will list the three properties of matter on one brace map, and the four types of changes on the other brace map.	Poor Group has less than five of the three properties of matter and the four kinds of changes in matter listed correctly.	Fair Group has five out of seven of the properties of matter and the kinds of changes in matter listed correctly.	Good Group has the three properties of matter listed correctly on the first brace map, and the four kinds of changes which occur in matter listed correctly on the second brace map.
facts: The students will give facts about each property of matter and each type of change in matter.	Poor Half or less of the facts about the three properties of matter and the four kinds of changes in matter are correct.	Fair Most facts on the three properties of matter and the four kinds of changes in matter are correct.
