Grammar Comprehension Writing Rubric Grammar Writing Rubric Students will use basic 2nd-5th grade grammar and comprehension skills when completing written assignments. The comprehension will include recall of facts, inference and author's purpose. This grammar would include: proper capitalization, proper punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, spacing and indentation. Comprehension	Poor The student was unable to recall facts or make inferences about the passage or story.	Fair The student was able to recall 1-2 facts or make inferences about the passage or story.	Good The student was able to recall 3-4 facts about the passage or story and make inferences .	Exemplary The student was able to recall most of the facts about the passage or story and make inferences .
Format	Poor Fails to follow format; poor spacing neatness of needs attention	Fair Meets format; generally correct spacing. Writing is neat but may have some assembly errors.
