Major Scale Rubric
	A 10 pts	B 8 pts	C 6 pts	D/F 5 pts
Tone Quality	A Rich, warm, full, focused tone with adequate breath support and steady sound.	B Warm, full, focused tone with breath support and somewhat steady sound.	C Decent tone with some squeaking.	D/F Timid, airy, and weak tone. reeds... with abundant squeaking.
Intonation (Pitch)	A Accurate intonation with correctly spread intervals.	B One pitch missed with accurate intonation. Did not read key signature.	C Two pitches missed with acceptable intonation. Did not read key signature.	D/F Three or more pitches missed with constant incorrect intonation. Did not read key signature.
Technique	A Posture, left hand position,and playing technique are characteristic of high quality playing.	B Posture, left hand positio, and playing technique are acceptable.	C Posture, left hand position, playing technique are adequate but flawed.	D/F Posture, left hand position, bow position, and playing technique are absent.
Pulse and Rhythm	A Steady pulse is maintained at a tempo characteristic of high quality playing.	B Steady pulse is somewhat maintained at a tempo characteristic of decent playing.	C Steady pulse is hardly perceivable at a tempo characteristic of adequate playing.	D/F Steady pulse is absent at a tempo characteristic of poor playing.
