Animal Adaptations: Designer Animal Project 
Students will write an animal adaptations essay and build an adapted animal for final project of science unit. Included will be a brainstorming poster with illustration of animal and important facts about animal. Also included will be a rough draft of essay describing the animals environment and adaptations for survival, and a final draft of the essay with correct spelling, capitalizations, etc. to give to English teachers for a cross curricular grade (get English teacher's approval ahead of time and inform students this will be given to English teacher so students will know).
