5th Grade Research Project Task 1 4th Grade Task 1 ELACC.5.W.7 Conduct short research projects that use several sources to build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic. Students were expected to gather information about their topic from a book, an online article, and from talking with a general education teacher. Students were to take notes and then use those notes to orally present the information they learned. Gathering information Students gather information from 3 sources - print, digital, and a general education teacher.	Poor Note cards do not contain information from any of the sources.	Fair Note cards contain information from 1 - 2 sources.	Good Note cards contain information from all 3 sources.
Note Cards Students include at least 8 facts.	Poor Note cards are present and include 5 or fewer facts about the topic.	Fair Note cards present and include 6-7 facts about the topic.	Good Note cards present and include 8 or more facts about the topic.
Information Gathered Student gathered information on multiple aspects of the topic. (Ex: If topic is Solar System, facts cover planets, constellations, & meteors.)	Poor Note cards cover 1 aspect of the main topic.	Fair Note cards cover 2 aspects of the main topic.	Good Note cards cover 3 or more aspects of the main topic.
Oral Presentation of Facts Students orally present facts learned to teachers and peers.	Poor Stated 5 or fewer facts.	Fair Stated 6-7 facts.	Good Stated 8 or more facts.
