Dance Performance Rubric

Choreography/Creativity	Poor Demonstrates little sense of choreography.	Fair Demonstrates some sense of choreography, but dance doesn't quite develop throughout the routine.	Good Demonstrates good choreographic skills. Shows interesting formations and patterns and flows with the music.	Superior Demonstrates excellent creativity. Shows interesting formations and patterns and presents a story within the piece.
Technical skills	Poor Demonstrates little technique (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.	Fair Demonstrates some technique (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.	Good Dance performed with attention to most details of technique.	Superior Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, and placement with respect to other group members.
Performance Skills	Poor Dancer is not focused and does not seem prepared.	Fair The dancer is generally focused, but only some attempt made to communicate with audience.	Good The dancer performed with good energy and effort and communicate with each other and the audience through eye contact, facial and body expression.	Superior The dancer creates a believable character on stage and is able to engage the audience completely through their performance. They perform with excellent energy and effort.
Group Work	Poor Did not work well with others and did not cooperate together on this project.	Fair Worked together sometimes but had some trouble coordinating with roles.	Good Worked together well as a group, communicating about most aspects of the project to make sure it was a team effort.	Superior Were a great team player, communicating well on all aspects of this project, dividing the workload evenly and fairly.
Total Participation	Poor Did not participate in collaborating, rehearsal, and final performance.	Fair Participated sometimes in collaborating, rehearsal, and final performance.
