Role Scoring Character Analysis Character Analysis Answer the questions about the two characters you will be playing in your fairy tale short play. Students must answer the questions in complete sentences and must submit two sets of character role scoring for their assignments. 	Novice 1 pts	Approaching 2 pts	Meeting 3 pts	Exceeds 4 pts
Interpretation:	Novice Interpretation of the character is inaccurate.	Approaching Interpretation of the character is mostly accurate. The description may be insufficient to support your interpretation.	Meeting Interpretation of the character is accurate and is effectively supported .	Exceeds Interpretation of the character is accurate and based on logical and insightful critical thinking about the character.
Supporting Evidence	Novice The evidence does not clearly support the interpretation.	Approaching The evidence somewhat supports the interpretation. The students connection to the interpertation is not always clear.	Meeting The evidence accurately supports the interpretation. Evidence is not always clearly connected to the interpretation	Exceeds The evidence strongly and insightfully supports the interpretation. Evidence is clearly stated and citations to the text is included.
Organization of Ideas	Novice Many details are not in a logical or expected order. There is little sense that the writing is organized	Approaching Some details are not in a logical or expected order, and this distracts the reader.	Meeting Details are placed in a logical order, but the way in which they are presented / introduced sometimes makes the writing less interesitng.	Exceeds Details are placed in a logical order and the way they are presented efectively makes the writing understandable. The research on the character is valuable and able to be incorporated into the students work on the role and final short play.
