Form	No Attempt No Attempt	Level One Poems are not written in the proper forms, ultimately diminishing the poetic value of the writer's collection. Few to no labels.	Level Two Poems are somewhat written in the proper forms, while others stray significantly or are written as prose. Some labels are present	Level Three Poems are mostly written in the proper forms. Some labels present.	Level Four Poems are complete and follow their intended form. All poems are correctly labeled.
Spelling	No Attempt No Attempt	Level One There are numerous spelling errors, making the poem difficult to understand.	Level Two The poet's intended meaning is muddled by several spelling errors.	Level Three A couple of spelling mistakes are evident, but do not diminish the meaning of the poem.	Level Four Proper use of modern English spelling is employed consistently throughout the poem.
Attractiveness	No Attempt No Attempt	Level One The poems are distractingly messy or very poorly designed.	Level Two The poems are acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy	Level Three The poems are attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness.	Level Four The poems are exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness.
Completeness of Anthology	No Attempt No Attempt	Level One This could not be considered an anthology because of the missing components.	Level Two Anthology is not complete with many of the components missing.	Level Three Anthology is almost complete with most of the components.	Level Four Anthology is complete with all of the components including name and date on title page.
Participation	No Attempt No Attempt	Level One Participation was at a minimum. Student had to be prompted to write and/or type their poems.	Level Two Participation was minimal to somewhat good. Student participated in class and had to have minimal prompting to type up poems.	Level Three Participation was good. Student participated in class and had to have minimal prompting to type up poems.	Level Four Participation was excellent. Student participated in class and worked very hard to stay on task and type poems for inclusion into anthology.
