	I Was Here I sat in a chair, upright, and concious. I did not make funny noises or yawn loudly. I brought in questions to share. 5 pts	I Agree I agreed with some and disagreed with others, but I never came up with my own ideas. I brought in questions to share. 10 pts	Good Job I read, I understood, I shared, and generally, made the discussion flow. I brought in questions to share. 16 pts	EXCELLENT I blew everyone's mind today. No one else has ever considered the question at hand in quite the same way before, nor will they ever again!! I brought in questions to share. 20 pts
Did I read the book?	I Was Here I was here and maybe spoke once or twice, but did not expand class understanding of the book. I was unable to recall important plot pieces or character elements.	I Agree I participated on an informational level. I asked points of clarification and agreed or disagreed with other's interpretaions.	Good Job I exhibited good insight into the novel. My comments went beyond simple agreement or disagreement with other's ideas.	EXCELLENT I posed provocative questions/answers that extended discussion beyond the literal confines of the novel.
Did I listen respectfully?	I Was Here I dominated or withdrew suggesting that I was not interested at all in the ideas discussed in class.	I Agree I was drawn in at times, but often simply looked for a chance to throw in my own ideas. I did not fully consider what others were commenting upon	Good Job Yes. I did an excellent job of following everyone else's ideas. I did not dominate the discussion or shut down others. I drew in shy members of the group by inviting them to participate.	EXCELLENT Yes. Even though I have tremendous ideas to add to the discussion, I never dominated the discussion. I allowed others ample opportunity to share their interesting ideas. Did I contribute thoughtfully?	I Was Here I did not really contribute much at all.	I Agree I contributed my opinion, but I was not always able to back up that idea with evidence or logic.	Good Job Yes. My comments were insightful and well balanced. I supoorted my assertions with details from the reading.	EXCELLENT Yes. Really, today would not have been half as sucessful if I had been absent. .
