Effort & Planning	Superior: 20, 19 pts Plan was followed through as designed, of course, improvements are always welcome. High challenge piece.	Average: 18, 17, 16 pts Plan was not followed very carefully, of course, improvements are always welcome, but some of the plans did not get done. Average challenge piece.	Developing: 15, 14 pts Sketched plan was not followed. Too many changes occurred. Not enough challenge.
Coil Methods	Superior: 20, 19 pts Demonstrates use of more than 2 basic coil methods.	Average: 18, 17, 16 pts Demonstrates use of 2 basic coil methods.	Developing: 15, 14 pts Demonstrates use of 1 basic coil method.
Building Quality	Superior: 20, 19 pts Coils are the appropriate size for the piece. Coils are attached well. Walls are smooth where required.	Average: 18, 17, 16 pts Coils are a little out of proportion for the size of the piece. Coils are attached. Walls could be smoothed better where required.	Developing: 15, 14 pts Coil size is out of proportion for the size of the piece. Coils did not attach as they dried. Walls are not smoothed where required.
Functional Use	Superior: 20, 19 pts Piece will serve it's function proudly.	Average: 18, 17, 16 pts Piece will serve it's function.	Developing: 15, 14 pts Piece will not work for it's function.
